Adra is an old coastal town which was once protected by a castle, walls and watchtowers guarding the beach. There is a museum where you can discover the history of the town and nearby stands a restored 18th Century mill. Inside the Heritage of San Sebastian are statues of the Virgin of the Sea and San Nicholas de Tolentino. Fish auctions take place at the port and there are many good fish restaurants. Nearby is a wetlands nature reserve with good opportunities for birdwatching.
