The attractive, little town of Ainsa stands high above the confluence of the Ara and Cinca rivers in the Pyrennes. In the 11th Century it was the capital of the kingdom of Sobrarbo. Little remains of the 15th Century castle apart from its walls and a tower where there is an exhibition relating to the ecology of the Pyrennes. In the town`s main square a play is performed in September every odd year which relates the victory over the Moors in the 8th Century AD.
