Algeciras is the main port for linking Spain with Africa and from here are frequent passenger and vehicle ferries to Tangier in Morroco and Ceuta, which is Spanish territory on the Moroccan coast. Fast ferries to Ceuta take less than one hour. Because of its close proximity to Africa, the harbour is an interesting place to walk around and there are a number of attractive old buildings. Algeciras is also a fishing port.
