The Alicante Provincial Museum of Archaeology is an award winning museum housed in a building that was once the San Juan de Dios de Alicante Provicial Hospital. The museum, MARQ, is a modern, spacious museum organised into different eras, including Prehistory, Iberian, Roman, Middle Ages and Modern. There is an area devoted to archaeology itself. Audio visual techniques as well as traditional methods of display are used to cover Alicante`s fascinating history.
