The Almeria Museum is an attractive, modern museum with artefacts from all over the province. The displays cover prehistory as well as more recent times. The most interesting is the material from Los Millares at Santa Fe de Mondujar, an important archaeological site occupied 3000 BC. The period marked the transition from stone to copper tools. There are also many photographs. The museum also holds temporary exhibitions.
