Altea is a picturesque village sitting on a hill overlooking the sea. It has narrow, winding, steep streets and near the little square is a church with a blue tiled dome. There are many craft shops, galleries and boutiques whilst around the square are tapas bars. Behind the narrow, pebble beach, which is popular with families, is an attractive promenade with cafes and restaurants.
