Antequera Municipal Museum is housed in a 17th Century Renaissance palace and has some interesting archaeological displays. There are several good Roman mosaics. The most outstanding item in the museum is a Roman bronze statue dating about the 1st Century AD. It is of a life sized boy and is known as Efebo. Another sculpture of interest is of St Franciso which is said to be by Alonso Cano.
