Aqua Amarga lies in a sheltered cove with a fine sandy beach. Now a seaside resort, it originated as a fishing village. There are seafood restaurants near the beach. No coastal roads connect the resort with Las Negras but walkers can take an enjoyable mainly cliff route, taking in the little beaches of Calo de Enmedio, Calo del Plamo and the ruined hamlet of Playa San Pedro.
