The Archaeology and History Museum is located in the San Anton Castle in the bay. The fortress was built in the 16th Century on what was then an island. At one time, it served as a prison. Apart from the castle`s construction and some of its weapons, there is a large archaeological collection covering many historical periods. Highlights include early jewellery, such as necklaces. On the upper floor are exhibits relating to the most important, local historic events.
