Astorga Cathedral stands on the site of an earlier Romanesque church. The building is in a mixture of styles as it took from the 15th Century to the 18th Century to complete. The main portal has reliefs showing events in the life of Christ whilst the towers are in the Baroque style. Behind the main altar is a retablo with work by Gospar Becerra, who studied in Italy.
