The Archaeology Museum is housed in the 16th Century Palacio de la Roca which is situated on the site of a Moorish fortress. The museum was founded in the mid 19th Century and now contains over 20,000 pieces from the province. They are arranged in chronological sequence and include prehistoric finds and Roman mosaics. You can see Visigothic pilasters with carvings and medieval artefacts. There are pieces from the Islamic period.
