Badajoz Cathedral was built in the 13th Century in the Gothic style and has a tower that looks like a fortress. The building was remodelled during the Renaissance period with a portal and plateresque friezes and window decorations. The interior boasts choir stalls which were carved in the mid 16th Century. Beside the chancel is the sacristy which contains several 17th Century Flemish tapestries. Do not miss the magnificent tiled cloister.
