The Museu de Geologia is located in the Parc de la Ciutadella. It opened in 1882 which is the same year as the park became open to the public. The oldest museum in Barcelona, it houses many minerals and fossils. Some of these are over 100 million years old and many of the exhibits are from Catalonia. Nearby are other interesting, historic buildings from the late 19th Century, including a glasshouse where concerts are held and a conservatory.
