The Basilica of San Vicente was built in the 12th Century on the site where the saint and his sisters Sabina and Cristeta were tortured and killed in the early 4th Century by the Romans. The story of their martyrdom is depicted on the 12th Century sarcophagus in the Romanesque church, and a striking Gothic 15th Century canopy covers the tomb. The west portal of this large church has detailed Romanesque carvings.
