Aguilas sits in a bay near the border with Andalucia. On the outskirts of this fishing port are many beaches and secluded coves. A British built locomotive sits on the seafront commemorating the railway in Aguilas. To the south are the sandy beaches of Calarreona and La Higuerica, backed by sand dunes. There are also beaches to the south, including Playa Hornillo and Playa Amarillo, and many coves. The coves are ideal for snorkelling, and diving courses and excursions are available in Aguilas.
