On Cabo Vilan is a lighthouse standing on a dangerous stretch of the beautiful Costa da Morte. A road leads to it from Camarinas. The lighthouse is over 100 metres high and its powerful light is visible from thirty nautical miles away. There is also an old lighthouse keeper`s building. Another route to the lighthouse on its craggy cliffs can be taken from Arou and the track passes other capes and wild sandy beaches.
