Once a fishing village, Calpe is now a popular, family resort with sandy fine beaches. The resort boasts over six miles of coastline with twelve beaches and several miles of cliffs. Most of the beaches have promenades and bars. The Playa de la Fossa is a Blue Flag beach composed of golden sand and it has a children`s play area. Calpe is also known for its surfing and sailing and there is a marina.
