Canet de Mar is an attractive seaside town with a wide beach and a fine promenade. The resort is sheltered by wooded hills and it receives many hours of sunshine. Canet has a long history and it was an important shipping centre during the sailing era. There are many interesting old buildings, including the 16th Century Church of Sant Pere and the Gothic Castle of Santa Florentina.
