Capdepera Castle

Towering above the little village of Capdepera is the largest fortress in Mallorca. It was built in the 14th Century on the site of earlier Roman and Moorish fortresses by the Mallorcan king to protect the coast from pirates. The castle can be reached by steps from the Placa d`Orient and it has several hundred metres of walls with a walkway and terraced gardens.
