The Convento de las Carmelitas Descalzas houses a museum with interesting works of art. One of the best is of St Theresa of Avila, the founder of the movement. It is by Luca Giordano. St Theresa lived in the 16th Century and, at a time when monastic orders were becoming lax, she brought back strict discipline. She also became famous for her letters.
