Miguel de Cervantes y Saavedra was born in a house on the street of Calle Mayor in 1547. A replica of the type of house he would have lived in was built here in the 1950s, and it contains a museum with 16th Century furniture, early editions of Don Quixote and objects related to the author. The masterpiece was about the adventures of an elderly knight errant and his friend Sancho Panza.
