Castell de Requesens lies in the Serra de l`Albera amongst woodlands of cork oak. The castle can be reached by track from Cantallops. It dates from the 9th Century but has been rebuilt since then and for several years from the early 1940s it was used as a Guardia Civil barracks. There is still a lot to see includuing halls, kitchens and parapets from where you can enjoy stupendous views.
