Castillo de Fuste is a round watchtower built to protect Fuerteventura Island from pirate raids. The tower dates from the mid 18th Century, when the island was frequently attacked, and it has a high entrance with a drawbridge at the top of steps. Located at the marina, in the bungalow estate of the Barcelo Club El Castillo, it is now surrounded by gardens and swimming pools.
