The Castillo de Valdecorneja dates from the 12th Century when it was built on the site of an earlier fort. Rebuilt a few hundred years later, it has recently been restored and can be visited. The castle is square in shape and is an impressve sight standing high above the river. There are battlements, turrets, a main gate with a pointed arch and a tower of homage. It is a venue for cultural events.
