The Cathedral of Santa Maria la Mayor is also known as the Basilica Priory of the Military Order of Santa Maria del Prado. The church became a cathedral in 1825. The building dates back to the 13th Century and has been built over several centuries. The apse was built in the 15th Century, whilst several features are 17th Century Baroque. Do not miss the Baroque altarpiece with its image of Madonna del Prado seated on a silver throne.
