Cala Morell is known for its prehistoric caves that have been used as dwellings and burial chambers. Inhabited in the Bronze and Iron Ages, the caves have central pillars to support the roofs, chimneys and windows. Inside are raised areas used for sleeping and some have carvings cut into the rock. The caves are visible on the approach to the village and they are open to the public.
