Ceuta Cathedral was started in the 17th Century on the site of a former mosque. Most of the building dates from about one hundred years later but some rebuilding took place in the mid 20th Century. Not to be missed is the 15th Century Portuguese Virgen Capitana. There is a Neo-classical black marble doorway and inside the Santismo Chapel is a fine Baroque altarpiece.
