Ardales is a pretty, little town with white houses standing on a hill crowned by a ruined castle. Below the ruin is the Church of Nuestra Senora de los Remedois which is a mixture of styles. It has a fine Mudejar ceiling. The first bridge here is said to have been built by the Romans and the area was occupied in prehistoric times. A few miles from Ardales is a picturesque resevoir known for its fishing.
