The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption is a mixture of styles and it was started in 1534, but was not completed until the 17th Century. It was burnt down in 1808 by French troops but was rebuilt a few years later. The reconstruction combines Gothic, Renaissance, Plateresque and Baroque elements. In the centre of the main altarpiece is a painting of the Assumption of the Virgin which is attributed to Francisco de Goya.
