The Church of Sant Quirze de Pedret is a restored pre-Romanesque church dating from the 9th Century. Since then it has been enlarged, but in the 20th Century a decision was made to restore the church to more closely resemble its 10th Century appearance. However, its 13th Century facade has been retained whilst its disharmonious belfry was dismantled. Some remarkable medieval wall paintings were discovered and these have been restored. The church is signposted from the Plaza de Guernika and involves a walk (or drive) of just over a mile.
