The Church of San Gines is the main church in Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote. It is dedicated to the town`s patron saint who is said to have lived as a hermit here. The present church was built in the 18th century and inside is a Moorish ceiling. It stands in a square near the attractive El Charco seawater lagoon that lies close to the town centre and has a walkway around it.
