The Church of San Nicolas is known for its large, early 16th Century altarpiece that has over 400 figures by Francisco de Colonia. The upper part shows the Virgin surrrounded by angels whilst the centre depicts several scenes from the life of St Nicolas, including the voyage to Alexandria. Below is a scene of the Last Supper. The Gothic Church of San Nicolas stands behind the cathedral.
