Overlooking the little seaside resort of Cadeques is the 16th Century Esglesia de Sant Maria, a 16th Century church with a tall tower. It has a wrought-iron door and inside the church is a chapel painted by Salvador Dali. The 18th Century altarpiece has many gilded carvings, some of saints, including St Barbara, protector from storms and invaders from the sea. Concerts of classical music are held in the church during the summer months.
