The magnificent City Hall was built in the 14th Century and beside its entrance is the statue of Jaume 1. In the entrance hall is a sculpture of Three Gypsy Boys by Joan Rebull. Upstairs is the huge meeting hall, Salo de Cent, built for Barcelona`s one hundred councillors. Its vaulting is Gothic. In the Salo de les Croniques are 20th Century murals by Josep Maria Sert depicting great events in Catalonia`s history. They were commissioned for the 1929 International Exhibition.
