Once a fishing village, Conil de la Frontera has grown into a popular, seaside resort. The main beach of Los Bateles is a favourite with families because of its calm, shallow waters. North-west are sheltered coves while south at El Palmar the beach is good for surfing. Beyond here is Cape Trafalgar where Lord Nelson achieved victory although he was killed.
