The Museu Egipci de Barcelona houses a private collection of more than five hundred artefacts from ancient Egypt. Exhibits include sculptures, sarcophagi, mummies and death masks. Some of the mummies are of animals and there are several examples of cat mummies. On display are statuettes of wood and bronze, as well as stone, and ceramics, jewellery and coins. Temporary exhibitions are sometimes held here and there is a cafe.
