The Garganta del Chorro is a two mile long, narrow ravine cut through the limestone by the River Guadalhorce. In places it is 400 metres deep and ten metres wide. A railway passes through tunnels along the side of it. There is also a narrow path called the El Camino del Rey which was built in the 1920s. It goes along the side of the gorge but it is now closed because much of the path has collapsed. Many rock climbers come here and there are several bolted climbs.
