The Museu Frederic Mares de la Punta is housed in an 18th Century hospital. The museum was created in 1985 to exhibit a collection donated by the sculptor Frederic Mares. This is one of the best lace museums in Europe and on display are a variety of laces made using different techniques. The exhibition illustrates the different styles that have evolved over the centuries. The highlight is the Castells collection which dates from 1862 to the present and exhibits pieces made with silk, linen and cotton.
