The Frederic Mares Museum is one of the most fascinating in Barcelona. The sculptor Frederic Mares was also a traveller and a collector, and he lived in part of this building which, over the centuries, has been occupied by bishops, counts, judges and nuns. Frederic Mares, who died in 1991, opened the museum in 1948 and on display are medieval sculptures, paintings, crucifixes and many miscellaneous objects such as costumes, clocks, pipes, cameras and toys.
