The Laguna de la Fuente de Piedra is a large lake visited by many birds. It is one of Europe`s most important breeding sites for the greater flamingo which can usually be seen here from early spring until the end of July. They spend the winter in Africa. Other birds that may be spotted include avocets, ducks and terns. There is an information centre beside the lake which is open in the summer months.
