The Torre de Hercules is the only Roman working lighthouse in the world. This famous local landmark was built by the Romans in the 2nd Century AD. When it was rebuilt in the late 18th Century for the third time, its outer stairway was enclosed. There are over 200 steps and from the top are fine views of the town and coastline. The lighthouse is located at the far end of the Coruna peninsula.
