Aguimes has been inhabited since Guanche times, and this intriguing history museum is housed in a 17th Century mansion that belonged to the Bishop of the Canary Islands. Visitors can learn about the last five hundred years of the area`s history including the local legends. There are several rooms covering themes such as pre-Hispanic times, society, domestic economy, farming, handicrafts and industry. The information about the exhibits is provided in several languages.
