The Iglesia del Carmen has a splendid Mudejar artesonado ceiling but the most outstanding feature of the church is the huge Baroque altarpiece. The wooden retablo was carved in the 18th Century by Antonio Primo and it has an enormous amount of detail. It is decorated with human figures including St John the Baptist and other prophets as well as popes. There are also cherubs and scrolls. The frescoes in the side chapels are also interesting.
