La Albufereta Beach lies to the north-east of Alicante city and in the region of important archaeological sites. It is a favourite summer location for the people of Alicante. The beach can be reached by car, tram and bus. It is about a quarter of a mile long and has fine, golden sand. The beach has lifeguards, disabled access and a first aid post. Parasols can be hired and there are refreshment facilities.
