The National Museum of Maritime Archaeology contains displays illustrating Cartagena`s long maritime history. There are large collections of ancient amphorae which date back to Phoenician as well as Roman times. You can also see the remains of several shipwrecks and a section of a Roman vessel. The collection also includes early documents and maps which are of special interest to anyone interested in the routes of maritime traffic.
