Menga and Viera Dolmens
Antequera 29200 - Spain

Map
The Menga and Viera dolmens are enormous Megalithic tombs dating from about 2500 to 2000 BC. The funerary chambers are formed of huge stone slabs and it is estimated that the largest one weighs about 200 tons. It is thought they were dragged about half a mile from a quarry. Faint engravings can be seen at the entrance. The dolmens are about half a mile from the centre of Antequera. A mile beyond them is the El Romeral dolmen.
