Betancuria lies in the centre of Fuerteventura Island and around the pretty town are extinct volcanoes and fertile valleys. Mirador Morro Velosa is a splendid viewpoint high up on a mountain north of Betancuria. The mirador, which has a restaurant, was designed by Cesar Manrique and it offers panoramic views of the island`s dramatic landscape. Nearby, beside the road, is another mirador with views towards the town of Valle de Santa Ines.
