Bilboa has many hills surrounding it, and the top of Monte Artxanda can be reached by the historic funicular railway. From this hill are magnificent panoramas of the city, taking in the Guggenheim Museum and the River Nervion. There are refreshment places but it is also an ideal place for a picnic. The funicular operates a regular service and runs until late in the evening.
