The Museu de Montserrat contains a collection of artworks which the abbey has brought together since it was restored in the 1840s. There is a collection of 19th and 20th Century Catalan paintings and sculpture as well as early works from the 13th and 14th centuries. A large number are Italian or French. Other items are archaeological finds from the Holy Land and religious gold and silver work.
