The Museo Vasco in the old town contains an extensive collection of exhibits devoted to the traditions of the Basque people. Displays include farming, fishing, ship building, hunting, metal working, pottery, weaving, arts and handicrafts and traditional clothes. There is an archaeological section with artefacts such as pottery, tools and carvings from the Paleolithic, Neolithic and Roman periods that have been discovered in the area. One artefact is the prehistoric animal like carving known as the Idol of Mikeldi.
